In order to make compatible to FSX some of your FS2004 addons, you may use Addon Converter X.
This FlightSim Tools plugin exists in version 1.07 as the latest, to be compatible with Flight1′s Airport Studio and bring a better stability on some PCs running Windows 7.
If you’re already a regular user of FS Captain tool, this shouldn’t be considered as fresh news at all.
This update has been available for weeks already, it’s better an opportunity to bring some more light on this career and passengers rating solution.
In its last version 1.3.1, FSCaptain can “review or add winds aloft data in detail”, “cancel or divert a flight”, “plan multi-legs flight”, and even other new features implemented and bugs fixed.
Nemeth Designs and MilViz have released their latest model, the Boeing Vertol CH-47 Chinook heavy lift helicopter, through simMarket.
The Chinook is, without doubt, an aviation icon. Developed in the early 1960s, the twin-rotor workhorse has seen action in many military roles around the entire globe, has flown as a heliliner, done logging duties, search and rescue… There’s actually very little that the aircraft has not done over the years and often in situations where a single-rotor aircraft could not have operated.
The Nemeth Designs aircraft requires FSX plus the Acceleration add-on pack to function and represents the “D” model of the aircraft. It is fitted with an interactive VC that includes a working AFCS (automatic flight control system) and a Sonic Solutions sound set. For full details and to purchase, click here.
It’s worth putting up that video again, we think, to advertise the addition of Shovsoft’s “Lunar Flight” to simMarket’s catalogue.
If you’re after a break from the norm, a trip to the moon might be just the ticket and Lunar Flight gives you the opportunity to try your hand in a fictionalised, but fun, lunar lander module as you fly cargo, survey and recovery missions in a graphically wonderful environment with authentic Newtonian physics.
Also featuring the ability to purchase upgrades for your lander using mission based income and ‘time trial’ tests of piloting skill, the sim can be found here.
In honour of the developer’s birthday, JRollon‘s award-winning CRJ-200 airliner for X-Plane is on half price sale until 20th May 2012.
The little Canadian jet is in use around the world as a short-haul commuter or feeder aircraft and JRollon’s version for XP9.55+ (some features require XP10) includes a functional cockpit, FMS and numerous upgrades over ‘base spec’ X-Plane models. Check it out here.
Xtreme Booster from Flight Simulator Platform Solutions has been around for a while for Microsoft FSX, getting good reviews from customers, so it is perhaps unsurprising that the developer’s next step has been to copy the technology across to Lockheed Martin‘s Prepar3D simulation platform.
What Xtreme Prepar3D Booster does, essentially, is manage the way that the simulator, its supporting packages such as weather or ATC programs and your computer interact by applying ‘tweaks’, setting applications to unused cores and suchlike, giving you maximum performance from your system without constant manual changes.

Benjamin van Soldt writes: "There are tiny airport, small airports, medium airports, and big airports. I have done about 4 scenery reviews now: Aerosoft’s Berlin Tegel, Lisbon, Stockholm Arlanda and Brussels Zaventem. Two of these are rather big, the other two could be classified as medium airports.
When I opted for ...
We are now into our 10th (last?) incarnation of the Microsoft Flight Simulator series. For some simmers the question as we are booting up our PC’s and loading the weather system is, “Now that I’m ready to fly… Where do I fly?” For some their VA assignments are the solution ...
Our staff reviewer from down under Peter Hayes takes an in-depth look at A2A Simulations latest creation, their Piper Cub rendition, which he calls 'the definitive J-3 Cub'. This is his verdict:

Quick Summary: Â Orcas Island Airport scenery pack:

Wanting to try something different for my next review I took on a recent offering from Cera Simaircraft; their Bell 412EP for FSX SP2 v1.4 helicopter.

Addictive Simulations have released a Pitts Special S1 which is a light aerobatic biplane designed for FSX and FS2004. This is a biplane single seater, tail dragger racer. This is a stunner of a reasonably fast manoeuvrable aerobatic and even acrobatic racer. It is a very nice model, very crisp ...

Our hobby, flightsimming, is constantly expanding. Developers throw at us; a new aircraft here, an airport there, and every one of them, better than the last one you thought was the best. The awe can sometimes become a little tedious, as it can seem to be just more of the ...
